PB Racing PB Racing Mustang
The PB Racing model car company produced the Mustang X3 quite some time ago and we have decided to republish the manual on-line as a reference.
This will help both those who still have one of these cars as well any other modeller who is interested in cars from the past.

  Axle Block Assembly
Pack No. 42/109
Fit a 19mm x 7mm bearing (22/298S) into the recessed side of one of the axle block mouldings and push part way home. Then pass an axle (42/200) through the bearing and fit a second bearing on the outer end. Using the axle to keep the bearings in line, push both bearings home. The axle should now be secured by means of a 7/64" x 11/16" long pin.
Repeat for all four axle blocks.
NOTE:- Do NOT fit the No.6 x 3/4" screws which secure the kingpin balls at this stage or you will damage the axle block moulding. Put the assemblies to one side for now.

The suspension pivot balls should be fitted to the wishbones by placing a ball with the projection uppermost over the hole in the wishbone and striking the ball with a soft faced hammer. Alternatively the balls may be fitted by pressing into position in a vice. In either case take care to protect the ball so that it's surface is not damaged.
Please remember that all the balls in any one wishbone should be fitted from the same side and that left and right hand wishbones need the balls fitting from opposite sides.
Three No.2 x 5/8" screws may now be fitted to each wishbone to secure the suspension balls. These screws only need tightening if the balls are loose in the wishbones, if the balls are tight then nip the wishbone/ball assembly in a vice to bed them in. The lower wishbones (the longer and thicker ones) may now be fitted to the front of the chassis taking care that the edge with two projections is facing forward and that the chassis is the right way up. Secure the wishbones with an M4 x 20mm bolt (22/252) which passes up through the chassis, the ball, and then with an M4 self locking nut (22/217).
Reminder:- Please double check that you have fitted the wishbones tot the top and to the front of the chassis plate and that the wishbones are the correct way round. - See Photograph.
NOTE:- When looking at the top plate from above and behind, the holes for the brake support moulding are offset to the right. The wishbone fixing screws (22/252) pass upward through the suspension ball, top plate and self locking nut.
The front body post should also be fitted to the top plate so that it is on the opposite side to the wishbones, use an M4 x 12mm bolt (22/256).
Remove the brake arm from a brake support moulding (previously assembled) and fit to the underside of the top plate and secure with two No.4 x 3/8" self tapping screws. - refit the brakes arm.

Now fit the front differential housing assembly to the underside of the top plate using two No.6 x 1/2" screws in the rearmost holes (leave these screws loose for the present) and ensure that the pinion shaft/disk and gear driver is offset to the RIGHT and that the brake disk is correctly located between the brake pads. See Photograph.
The front shock absorber mounting brackets may now be fitted to the top of the top plate and secured with two No.6 x 3/4" screws (22/302) in the inboard holes (these screws also secure the top plate to the differential housing and should be left loose for now)
and two No.6 x 1/2" screws (22/239) in the outer holes (these self-tap into the top plate and may require a little pressure to get them started!). The M3 nuts and bolts and No.4 x 1/2" screws will be needed later for shock absorber mounting.
