PB Racing PB Racing Mustang
The PB Racing model car company produced the Mustang X3 quite some time ago and we have decided to republish the manual on-line as a reference.
This will help both those who still have one of these cars as well any other modeller who is interested in cars from the past.

  Front Bumper
Pack No. 50/104
It is easier to fix the front bumper to the underside of the chassis and top of the top plate before the op Plate/Differential Housing assembly is fitted to the chassis. The front bumper (50/211) is marked with the correct positions in which to drill four 4.8mm diameter fixing holes. Please drill the holes and then fix the bumper to the underside of the chassis using two No.10 x 5/6" self-tapping screws and to the top of the front top plate with two similar screws. See Photograph.

The bumper may now be bent over and the differential housing fixed to the chassis with four No.6 x 1/2" self-tapping screws which should be left slightly loose for now. NOTE:- It will be easier to bend the bumper if you have warmed and preformed it slightly.
Now fit a bearing (22/298S) to the 'L' shaped plummer-block (43-241) and install this assembly to support the rear end of the front gear carrier. Secure the plummer-block with two No.4 x 3/8" screws (22/238).
NOTE:- To lubricate the crown wheel & pinion we recommend mixing Castrol LM grease with gear oil to produce a semi-fluid grease and using this mixture to fill the differential housing to a depth which ensures that the crown wheel touches the grease.
  Rear Suspension
Pack No. 42/107
Assemble the suspension balls (42/202A) and fixing screws (22/301) to the wishbones in exactly the same way as for the front wishbones and fix the lower wishbones to the chassis using M4 x 20mm bolts and self-locking nuts. See photograph for correct orientation.

Before fitting the upper wishbones it is necessary to fit the camber adjustment plates to the top surface of the rear top plate. When viewed from above and behind all three holes for mounting the brake support moulding should be at the front and to the left - the photograph shows the correct orientation.
The camber adjustment plates should be fitted with the protrusion in the long edge facing towards the outside of the car. Secure each adjuster plate with two No.4 x 1/4" self tapping screws (22/241).
The upper wishbones should now be fitted to the top plate as follows; pass an M4 x 30mm screw (22/323) up through an inboard suspension ball, a ball joint spacer (small end first), the top plate and the camber adjuster plate and secure with an M4 self-locking nut (22/217). The photograph shows the correct orientation of the wishbones which, when fitted, should have an almost straight edge at the front and the sloping edge to the back.
The second brake support moulding may now be fitted to the underside of the top plate and secured as for the front assembly.

Now fit the rear differential housing assembly to the underside of the top plate ensuring that the disk is correctly and centrally located in the pads and that the gear/disk carrier is offset to the left. Loosely secure the housing with two No.6 x 1/2" self-tapping screws in the rear holes. Two No.6 x 3/4" screws (22/302) secure the housing at the front, but these screws must pass through the inner holes of the shock absorber mountings (42/231 & 42/231A). Please leave these screws loose for now, two No.6 x 1/2" (22/239) secure the shock absorber mountings to the top plate via the outer holes.
Fit the two rear body posts (50/204) to the top plate with two No.8 x 3/4" screws. See photograph. Two No.10 x 5/16" screws should be fitted to the holes in the sides of the body posts, these are used to secure the wing wire.
The differential housing/top plate assembly may now be fixed to the chassis with four No.6 x 1/2" screws (22/230).
