The PB Racing model car company produced the Mustang X3 quite some time ago and we have decided to republish the manual on-line as a reference. |
This will help both those who still have one of these cars as well any other modeller who is interested in cars from the past. |

| Front Drive Shaft |
Pack No. 46/104
Take a front axle block assembly and, ensuring correct orientation (see photograph), fit it to the ball joint of the appropriate lower front wishbone. Secure the assembly with a No.6 x 3/4" screw but ensure that the housing is fully engaged in the ball before fitting this screw. Connect the outer end of the track rod to the ball ended screw on the steering arm. |

| Now fit a front drive shaft (46/224) (long) into the differential drive cup and to the cupped end of the axle ensuring that the drive shaft pins are correctly located in their slots. Fit the top of the axle block to the ball joint in the upper wishbone and secure with a No.6 x 3/4" screw. The drive shaft retainer (42/232) should now be fitted up through the holes in the outer ends of the front wishbones and secured by a brass collar. Take care that the brass collar is not fitted so close to the wishbone as to limit the suspension movement. See photograph showing shock absorber installation. Repeat the operation for the other side of the car. |
| Rear Drive Shaft |

Pack No. 46/105
The rear axle block assemblies and drive shafts (46/223) (short) should also be fitted in a similar manner to the front but please take care to ensure correct orientation. See photograph. |
| Shock Absorbers |
Pack No. 02/14
Fit the spring clamps to the shock absorber bodies and secure then with a No.2 x 1/4" screw. The springs should now be passed over the shock absorber and body and secured by the spring plate and trunnion. Screw the trunnion onto the shock absorber shaft taking care that;
a) The shaft is not damaged.
b) The trunnions are all screwed on by the same amount (this affects the length of the shock absorber in the fully open position). |

Fit the shock absorbers using an M3 x 16mm bolt (22/254) and nut (22/253) at the top and a No.4 x 1/2" screw (22/312) at the bottom. |
