PB Racing PB Racing Mustang
The PB Racing model car company produced the Mustang X3 quite some time ago and we have decided to republish the manual on-line as a reference.
This will help both those who still have one of these cars as well any other modeller who is interested in cars from the past.

  Engine Mounting
Pack No. 13/113
Fit your engine to the mounting blocks so that the gear(s) on the clutch bell will line up with the large ring gear(s) on your centre drive. Drill and tap the engine blocks for 4-40 UNC bolts (or 3mm) and use thread lock compound when fitting these bolts. If you have difficulty in drilling and tapping the blocks, PB have a range of pre-drilled and tapped blocks to suit most popular racing engines.

Please check that the carburettor is correctly aligned to allow for a direct linkage to the throttle/brake servo. See photograph.
Pack No. 48/102
Fit the two plastic servo mounting brackets (48/208) to the chassis using four No.4 x 3/8" screws (22/238). The pre-drilled holes in the chassis are spaced to accommodate a large servo similar to the Futaba FP-S 134. If you are using a small servo, it will be necessary to drill additional holes in place of those provided for the rearmost bracket.

Drill the top of the mounting blocks to accommodate your particular servo and make up a link (approximately 85mm long) to connect the servo output arm to the steering bell crank (we recommend using our servo top servo saver 23/116).
Adjust the length of the link to give equal lock to both left and right. See photograph.

The throttle servo should now be fixed to the underside of the radio plate (48/206) and the plate fitted to the front and rear top plates by means of four No.6 x 5/16" screws (22/237) from the front and rear suspension packs. These four screws and the sixteen screws which fix the differential housings to the chassis and top plates should be gradually tightened in rotation.
The photographs show suitable brake and throttle linkages.
No specific provision is made for mounting either the receiver or Nicad as they vary in size considerably but several alternative locations are possible.
