An abbreviation for polytetrafluoroethylene, which is a tough crystalline resinous material resistant to chemicals that has a low coefficient of friction, i.e. it’s very slippy. Teflon™ is a trademarked name for polytetrafluoroethylene.

Hardened steel wire sold by many model shops used for control linkages, pivots pins, etc. To the best of my knowledge it is only available in imperial sizes (fractions of an inch).
